Vietnam: First Korean newspaper makes debut

A book on co-operation for development in territorial waters in international law and reality was introduced to the public on June 18.

It is the result of a joint effort byVietnam Pictorial, a Vietnam News Agency publication, and a newspaper for overseas citizens of theRepublic of Korea.

Theobjective of thepaper isto strengthen the strategic coalitionbetween the two countries by serving as a bridge for mutual understanding andtrust between the two nations and peoples.

It aims toprovide information to the Korean community on the investment environment and co-operation opportunitiesin Vietnam, while serving as a reliable source of news for Koreanpolicymakers, scholars, businesses and the Korean Community living in Vietnam.

The 24-page colour-printed Vietnam-Korea Times will be published every Tuesdayandcover a wide range of topics from politics and economy to culture, education, art, history, the Vietnamese nation and its people, business activitiesand community information.

 During the launching ceremony, both VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi and Chargé d'affaires at the KoreanEmbassy in Hanoi Oh Nak Young expressed their delight at the growing friendship and all-around co-operation between the two countries, which has developed into a strategic partnership. 

They agreed that both sides are laying the foundations for further and moreeffective ties in the future.
