HCM City works to boost VN-Cuba ties

Ho Chi Minh Citywill make its best efforts to strengthen and consolidate the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Thanh Hai affirmed this on June 20 at a reception for visiting First Vice President of the Council of State and Communist Party of Cuba Politburo member, Miguel Diaz Canel.

He said he belives that Mr. Canel’s visit will help deepen the strong and extensive co-operation between the two countries.

The Cuban guest stressed that the traditional Cuba-Vietnam relationship is special and everlasting. Through this visit, Cuba reaffirms its desire to further enhance the fraternity between the two Parties and peoples.

He said his visit aims to accelerate and complete the signing of economic co-operation agreements between the two countries and create a foundation for both sides to boost co-operation in trade, investment, telecommunications, and oil and gas exploitation.

Cubawants to exchange experiences with Vietnam in educating the political thought of the young generations as well as the Party’s role in managing and guiding the development of communications and the internet, he added.

The same day, Cuban Politburon member, Canel and his entourage also visited several economic establishments and the museum of war remnants in Ho Chi Minh City./.
