Vietnam backs Cuba’s renewal process

NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung made this statement in Hanoi on June 21 during a meeting with Cuban First Vice President of State Council and Council of Ministers Miguel Diaz Canel, who leads a high-level Cuban delegation paying a working visit to the country.

He spoke highly of the outcomes of the talk between the Cuban guest and State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, including measures to foster co-operation in agriculture, tele-communication, infrastructure development, as well as oil and gas exploration and exploitation.

Chairman Hung said that both sides should enhance high-level visits and delegation exchange to achieve an agreement and orientation for promoting the bilateral links.

Praising the fine developments of the bilateral ties in all areas, Chairman Hung affirmed the deep sentiments of the Party, State and Vietnamese people to Cuban people, saying that the people of both nations should continuously maintain, preserve and promote the invaluable common assets of time-honoured traditional friendship and unity between them.

He also sent greetings and best wishes to his Cuban counterpart and other Cuban leaders through First Vice President Canel.

The guest reaffirmed that his visit aims to boost the traditional friendship and comprehensive between the two countries, State and people, saying that Cuban people always consider the Vietnamese their relatives, to whom they look up to for diligence, bravery, intelligence and revolutionary tradition.

He congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements and thanked the Party, State and Vietnamese people for their support to Cuban struggles, national construction and development.

He expressed a strong belief that the bilateral co-operation will gain new achievements in all fields, contributing to nourishing the traditional friendship and comprehensive links between the two peoples in the future.
