Clearance time at Mong Cai International Border Gate extended

As of July 1, the customs clearance time at the Mong Cai International Border Gate of Vietnam in the northern province of Quang Ninh has been extended to 20:00 (Hanoi time), one hour later than the previous closing time of 19:00.

Accordingly, the official time for immigration procedures is from 7:00 to 20:00 (Hanoi time) while the clearance time for goods will remain at the previous time of 7:00 to 19:00.

The extended time aims to facilitate trade exchanges and boost co-operation for mutual development between Vietnam and China, as well as between the two countries’ localities of Mong Cai and Dongxing.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked the Ministry of National Defence to work with relevant agencies and the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee to effectively implement the new regulated time.

According to statistics, approximately two million people and 500,000 tourists travel between the two countries through the Mong Cai International Border Gate annually.
