The leader congratulated each of them on their appointments, which he described as a great honour and a significant responsibility.

He urged them to thoroughly grasp and effectively carry out their assigned missions while creatively applying the Party and State’s external guidelines and policies, ultimately ensuring a peaceful and stable environment for national development.

The diplomats need to actively submit proposals on foreign affairs to the Party and State, especially on major issues related to national interests and territorial sovereignty, he noted, requesting increased efforts in implementing expatriate-related work and helping overseas Vietnamese integrate into local communities as well as contribute to their homeland.

The General Secretary also requested diplomats to ensure their offices and agencies are a fine representation of Vietnam’s image in order to promote the country’s land, people and culture to the international community. Furthermore, they should act as a friendship and cooperation bridge linking Vietnam with other nations and partners.

At the meeting, ambassadors and chiefs of representative agencies expressed their honour to be accredited and voiced their willingness to contribute to national development.

They vowed to exert their full efforts in fulfilling assigned tasks for the sake of the nation.
