Party officials bid farewell to Lao ambassador

Outgoing Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Somphone Sichaleune affirmed that in any position, he would try his best to foster the special solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

The Ambassador made the remark in Hanoi on September 17 while bidding farewell to Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and head of CPVCC's Commission for Communication and Education.

Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune also expressed his thanks to the Commission for Communication and Education for creating favourable conditions to help him successfully fulfil his mission during his working tenure in Vietnam.

Politburo member Dinh The Huynh spoke highly of the diplomat’s contributions to the special solidarity and traditional friendship between the two countries.

The Politburo member also expressed his hope that the diplomat would continue to serve as a bridge to promote the special ties between Vietnam and Laos for each country's prosperity and for regional peace, stability and development.

The same day, Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune also bid farewell to Politburo member, Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh.
