Indian diplomat honoured with insignia

The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics awarded the insignia “For the course of building and developing the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics” to Preeti Saran, Ambassador of India to Vietnam, at a ceremony held on January 21.

At the event, Ta Ngoc Tan, Director of the academy acknowledged the ambassador’s contributions to boosting co-operation between Vietnam and India, especially in the establishment and development of the Centre for Indian Studies at the academy.

For her part, the Indian ambassador said she was honoured to receive the noble award and pledged to continue making active contributions to deepening ties between the two countries in general and between India and the academy in particular.

On behalf of the Indian Government, she presented a donation of US$100,000 to the Centre for Indian Studies.

Beginning her diplomatic mission in Vietnam in 2014, Preeti Saran has helped boost co-operation between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and leading research institutes in India, including the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) and the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA).
