Giau congratulated the success of the 10th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the elections of the eighth NA and the deputies to the municipal and provincial People’s Councils.

Speaking highly of Laos’ law-making achievements, especially the adoption of the amended Constitution 2015, the host expressed his belief that the Lao NA would continue making important contributions to realising the Resolution adopted by the 10th National Party Congress and the eighth five-year socio-economic development scheme.

He hailed the exchange of visits by Vietnamese and Lao border provinces, including Nghe An and Xieng Khouang, saying that it would help facilitate experience sharing and bolster comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

Chanthaphone, for his part, said his visit is to learn from Vietnam’s experience in organising the activities of the People’s Councils, and wished that the Vietnamese legislature and localities will continue assisting Laos in this field.

During the August 15-20 visit, the Lao delegation learned from Nghe An’s development experience.
