PCC’s Economic Commission boosts co-operation with the UK

Co-operation between the Economic Commission of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and the UK Embassy will continue to develop comprehensively, significantly contributing to strengthening the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the UK.

The statement was made by Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and head of the PCC’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh while receiving UK Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever in Hanoi on August 23.

At the reception, Politburo member Binh appreciated the positive developments in the co-operation between the two countries in numerous fields including trade and investment and bringing practical benefits to the people of both nations.

The two sides discussed issues of mutual concern such as the impacts of Brexit to Britain’s investment in Vietnam as well as the activities of the UK Government's Prosperity Fund in Vietnam.

Regarding the economic situation of Vietnam, under the policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country will continue to pursue the full socialist-oriented market economy institution.

Ambassador Giles Lever appreciated important achievements that Vietnam has gained in socio-economic development.

He also confirmed the support to be given to Vietnam from the UK government in the coming time as well as expressed his belief that the traditional relations between Vietnam and the UK will further develop.
