President pays State visit to Brunei and Singapore

President Tran Dai Quang and his spouse left Hanoi on August 26 for a State visit to Brunei and Singapore from August 26 to 30 at the invitation of Brunei’s King Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah and Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam.

The State leader is being accompanied by Chairman of the Presidential Office Dao Viet Trung; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh; Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha; Chairman of the Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem; Vietnamese Ambassadors to Brunei and Singapore; along with Deputy Ministers of National Defence, Public Security, Foreign Affairs, and Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This is President Quang’s first visit to Brunei and Singapore and also the visit made in line with the ASEAN traditional practice of new leaders of member countries paying initial visits to others, aiming to continue fostering and deepening friendly relations and co-operation with Brunei and Singapore.
