PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrives in Vientiane for ASEAN Summits

NDO/VNA—Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived at Wattay Airport in the Lao capital of Vientiane at noon on September 6, to attend the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits and related meetings at the invitation of his Lao counterpart, Thongloun Sisoulith.

The same day, the PM is scheduled to meet with PM Thongloun Sisoulith and Party and State leaders of Laos. Later, he will attend the opening session of the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits and several other activities in the framework of the event.

As an active and responsible member of ASEAN, Vietnam will work to promote ASEAN’s connectivity and solidarity, as well as the bloc’s central role, while enhancing the comprehensive and results-orientated ties between ASEAN and its partners in dialogue.

During the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits, participating leaders are expected to sign one document, adopt nineteen others and acknowledge 27 documents, while Laos will issue ten Chairman’s Statements.
