Welcoming the US diplomat, Daniel Kritenbrink, President Quang stated that the Vietnamese agencies are making their final preparations to receive US President Donald Trump on his upcoming State visit to the country.
He urged both sides to prepare effectively in order to make the visit a success, thus creating a significant landmark in the development of Vietnam-US relations.
He suggested that the two countries accelerate their cooperation mechanisms in a dynamic and effective fashion; focus on expanding the exchange between the ministries, sectors and localities of both sides; and facilitate policy and defence-security dialogue, as well as bilateral cooperation in education and culture.
President Quang spoke highly of the efforts made by the US side in detoxifying Da Nang Airport, calling for further practical and specific assistance for Vietnam in the field, with the detoxification of the Bien Hoa Airport considered as an immediate task.
Furthermore, Vietnam highly appreciates the viewpoint of the US on the issue of ensuring aviation and maritime freedom, security and safety in the region, the State leader said.
For his part, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink voiced his sympathy for the huge losses, concerning both life and property, caused by Typhoon Damrey in central Vietnam, noting that he will work to strengthen the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US, during his working tenure in the Southeast Asian country.
He expressed his belief that, with the thorough preparations by the Vietnamese side, President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to the country would be a success, thereby advertising Vietnam as an attractive destination to both the US people and investors.
On behalf of the Vietnamese State, President Tran Dai Quang thanked the US diplomat for his condolences, whilst also sharing his sympathy with the US government, people and families of the victims concerning the casualties of the Texas church shooting on November 5.
He expressed his hopes that Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink would gain more experience about Vietnam and its people, thereby contributing to expanding the exchange and understanding between the people of the two countries.

He expressed his gratitude for Nigeria’s active cooperation with Vietnam at international forums, affirming Vietnam’s consistent policy of prioritising the development of its traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Nigeria, one of its leading partners in Africa.
The leader suggested that the two countries maintain the exchange of high-level delegations, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and deploy more effective measures to boost their bilateral economic, trade and investment ties.
On the occasion, President Quang extended his regards and wish for good health to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that his special envoy will visit Nigeria in 2018 to recommend several new directions that aim to boost the cooperation between the two countries’ private economic sectors.
Affirming Nigeria’s constant support and cooperation with Vietnam at international forums, Ambassador Francis Efeduma stated that the Nigerian President and people wish to receive President Tran Dai Quang to visit Nigeria in the time ahead.
The diplomat highlighted the huge potential for cooperation between the two countries, noting that the Nigerian agriculture minister would visit Vietnam next week, seeking to discuss measures with which to boost the ties in this field.
* Receiving Greek Ambassador Ioannis Raptakis, President Tran Dai Quang spoke highly of the role played by the Greek Embassy in Hanoi, whilst wishing the diplomat a successful working tenure in Vietnam, thus actively contributing to facilitating the relations between the two countries.

He recommended that both sides strengthen the exchange of delegations at all levels; foster close coordination at multilateral forums, such as the United Nations, ASEAN-EU and ASEM; and further accelerate cooperation in their fields of strength and mutual benefit, including sea-based economy, shipbuilding, agriculture, tourism, culture and education.
The President thanked Greece for supporting Vietnam in enhancing its ties with the European Union, including the ratification of the Vietnam-EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, whilst asking Greece to support Vietnam to officially sign and implement the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement soon.
For his part, Ambassador Ioannis Raptakis affirmed that Greece wishes to boost the ties between Vietnam and the EU, as well as to represent Vietnam’s voice in Europe.
He conveyed greetings and regards from Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos to President Quang, stating that it is high time for the two countries to implement mutual visits at State level.
Sharing the diplomat’s point, President Quang extended his invitation to Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos to visit Vietnam, and said that he would make arrangements to pay a visit to Greece soon.
