The statement was made by Le Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the HCM City municipal People's Committee during a reception on Monday for a delegation from three central Argentinian provinces of Entre Risos, Cordoba and Santa Fe, led by Deputy Governor of Entre Rios, Bahl Adan Humberto.

The delegation is on a visit to Vietnam’s southern economic hub, seeking measures to promote cooperation between the two sides, especially in the fields of trade and investment.

Speaking at the meeting, Liem emphasised that the relationship between Vietnam and Argentina is at a good stage, promoted through high level delegation exchange activities. In addition to the recent high-level delegation exchanges and trade promotion activities, leaders of HCM City will make visits to Argentina in the near future to foster cooperative relations with localities in the South American country, Liem said.

He also expressed his delight at the potential and economic achievements of the three central provinces of Argentina, as well as the results of trade promotion activities in HCM City between the two sides’ business communities.

Highlighting the potential of Entre Rios, Cordoba and Santa Fe, which are considered the heart of Argentina, Bahl Adan Humberto said that the three provinces are strong in agricultural production with typical products such as processed nuts, dairy products, fruits, poultry, beef, and pork.

He said his delegation have worked with Vietnamese localities including HCM City during their visit, as they look for investment cooperation opportunities in the field of imports and exports of agricultural products and strengthening relations in the fields of economy, tourism and culture.

Leaders from Entre Rios, Cordoba and Santa Fe affirmed their desire to promote trade and investment with businesses in HCM City, while pledging to create the most favourable conditions for them to seek opportunities in the Argentine market that acts as a bridge to connect Vietnam’s biggest city to Argentina's neighbouring countries in South America, such as Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.
