Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique, Le Huy Hoang, made the statement at a reception hosted by Mozambican Prime Minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, in Maputo, on July 4.

Addressing the event, the Vietnamese diplomat conveyed the regards from PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the other senior leaders of Vietnam to PM Carlos Agostinho do Rosário.

He asked the PM and the Government of Mozambique to continue supporting the Vietnamese community in Mozambique to integrate and do successful business in the native country, thereby contributing to tightening the friendship between the two countries’ people.

For his part, PM Carlos Agostinho do Rosário highly appreciated the multifaceted support offered to Mozambique by Vietnam over the past few years, while welcoming Vietnam’s Doi Moi (Renewal) achievements, especially in developing the economy and improving the people’s lives.

He expressed his wish that Vietnam would continue sending experts in agriculture, healthcare and education to share their experience for Mozambique’s socio-economic development, while supporting the second phase of the US$2.2 million project “Cooperation in researching and developing food crops”, which has been effectively implemented in Mozambique’s Zambezia province since 2014.

The Mozambican PM called on Vietnamese businesses to make investments in Mozambique, especially in the potential fields of mining (coal, gas) and the cultivation of perennial food crops and industrial plants. He applauded the effective operations of Vietnam’s telecom giant Viettel in Mozambique (through the Movitel venture), encouraging the group to continue investing in the 4G network in the country.
