NA Chairwoman Ngan noted with pleasure the development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan and their legislative bodies in particular, especially since the Kazakh Embassy was established in Vietnam in 2015.

Vietnamese people always keep in mind the valuable support of Kazakhstan for their past struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as the present national construction and development, she said.

Highlighting the fruitful bilateral economic and trade ties, the Vietnamese top legislator said the two countries boast substantial potential to further the cooperation.

NA Chairwoman Ngan said she was impressed by Kazakhstan’s attraction of US$ 220 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2017, and suggested the two sides exchange experience in this field.

Vietnam highly appreciates Kazakhstan’s efforts to promote the initiative to launch a railway connecting Kazakhstan, China and Vietnam, she said.

She told the Mazhilis Chairman that Vietnam has sent a delegation to the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan from October 10-11.

On this occasion, NA Chairwoman Ngan invited the Kazakh lower house leader to pay an official visit to Vietnam.

The leaders acknowledged the consolidated bilateral political ties, as seen in the exchange of all-level visits and the official signing of the Vietnam-Eurasia Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (VN-EAEU FTA). They noted that the VN-EAEU FTA is a milestone that helps elevate the bilateral ties to a new high and open up areas for stronger comprehensive cooperation.

Nigmatulin said the deal would create opportunities for foreign businesses and investors to access the Vietnamese market and open a trade corridor between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

He affirmed that Vietnam is Kazakhstan’s important Asian partner and Kazakhstan always hopes to develop economic and trade relations with the country.

The Kazakhstan parliament attaches importance to legislative ties with Vietnam, he said, recalling the official visit to Kazakhstan by NA Chairwoman Ngan in 2017 that has significantly contributed to promoting the relationship between the two countries.

Kazakhstan has established the Kazakhstan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group with 40 members, Nigmatulin said, noting his hope that the two sides will share operational experience, especially in lawmaking.
