During a reception for a visiting MIC delegation led by Minister Nguyen Manh Hung in Vientiane on March 12, the Lao Deputy PM thanked the Vietnamese Government and the MIC for helping Laos train information technology personnel and asked Vietnam to continue with the support.

He affirmed his backing of the partnership between the MIC and the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and Ministry of Post and Telecommunication.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung reported to the host the outcomes of the two talks between his delegation and the two Lao ministries.

He took the occasion to seek support from the Lao Deputy PM for Vietnamese firms operating and investing in Laos, particularly those involved in the field of information technology.

Earlier, the MIC delegation held talks with officials of the Lao Ministry of Post and Telecommunication led by Minister Thansamay Kommasith.

Several cooperation agreements were signed on the occasion, including one between the MIC and the Lao Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, another between the Authority of Information Security and the LaoCERT, and one between the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunication Group and the Lao E-Government Centre.

During their working visit from March 11 to 13, Minister Hung and the MIC delegation had a working session with Vietnamese IT companies operating in Laos.
