Hanoi pledges favourable conditions for Singaporean firms

Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung affirmed that Hanoi will create favourable conditions for Singaporean enterprises including preferential mechanisms and policies to facilitate their business related activities in Vietnam.

The Hanoi leader made the remarks at a reception on July 7 for a delegation of Singaporean enterprises led by Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Teo Siong Seng, who are visiting Hanoi to discuss measures in which to boost business cooperation between the two sides.

Chairman Chung emphasised that Hanoi always attaches great importance in regards to their cooperation with Singaporean enterprises and the city encourages Singaporean investors to participate in Vietnam’s start-up ecosystem, building a smart city, promoting tourism development, and building commercial centres.

The Singaporean side said that the areas mentioned by Chung are in-fact strengths of Singaporean enterprises, particularly infrastructure, logistics, transport, services, health, and human resources training.

SBF Chairman noted that through the visit, Singaporean enterprises wish to seek cooperation opportunities and assist local enterprises in expanding business ventures, contributing to promoting the strategic partnershipbetween Vietnam and Singapore.

He expressed his hope that the Hanoi leader would visit Singapore this September on the occasion of the Formula 1 race in Singapore to share experience for the organisation of the event in Hanoi scheduled for 2020.
