At the meetings, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his thanks to South Africa and Nigeria for supporting Vietnam to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term.
He also suggested the two sides continue to work closely together at multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations, to contribute to peace and stability in regions and around the world.
In the meeting with South African Ambassador Mpetjane Kgaogelo Lekgoro, Deputy PM Hue stated that during the upcoming visit to South Africa, the Vietnamese Government delegation wished to enhance the bilateral multi-faceted cooperation, with a focus on politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, and defence industry.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Ambassador Francis Young Efeduma also emphasised that Nigeria wishes to further strengthen relations with Vietnam through the upcoming working visit to Nigeria by the Vietnamese Government Delegation.
The Ambassador emphasised that Nigeria and Vietnam should continue to enhance the exchange of high-level delegations between the two sides in the coming time.
Nigeria will become a bridge to help Vietnam strengthen cooperation and exchange with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), he noted.
