Ho Chi Minh City enhances cooperation with Japan’s Aichi prefecture

Ho Chi Minh City and Japan’s Aichi Province should enhance online meetings between leaders and units from the two localities in order to implement activities to boost their bilateral cooperation in the context of the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was agreed by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and the Governor of Aichi prefecture in Japan at an online working session on September 14.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong gave his sincere thanks to the Japanese Government for their support of Vietnam in COVID-19 prevention and control, while expressing his belief that the Aichi prefecture will be successful in its prevention of the spread of the epidemic.

He emphasised that the friendship between Ho Chi Minh City and the Aichi prefecture has been consolidated over recent years, furnishing many achievements.

In the context of the COVID-19 outbreak, Ho Chi Minh City is always willing to enhance the online exchange between agencies of the two localities to strengthen their relations in all fields in the near future, added Chairman Phong.

He also called for Aichi’s enterprises to pay more attention to and and consider further investment in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to enhancing the friendship between the two localities.

For his part, Aichi prefecture’s governor appreciated Ho Chi Minh City’s efforts in COVID-19 prevention and control, while affirming that the locality will create favourable conditions for them to enhance cooperation once the epidemic is brought under control.

He expressed his hope that Ho Chi Minh City and the Aichi prefecture will continue their close coordination to successfully organise the Vietnam Festival in Aichi next year.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Ambassador in Aichi said that the prefecture is willing to implement cooperation programmes and the exchanging iof experience in human training in the tourism sector as well as activities to enhance mutual understanding and friendship among students from the two localities.
