Addressing the meeting, the diplomat asked the UVFA and its President Oleksandr Vitaliyovich Shlapak to continue promoting their connecting role while maintaining the association’s support to further strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.

He called for the UVFA’s support in introducing and advertising the land and people of Vietnam in Ukraine, as well as enabling the Vietnamese community in Ukraine to lead more stable lives.

Thach recommended that the UVFA’s leaders come up with diverse operational models that suit the new situation to continue accelerating Vietnam-Ukraine long-standing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation across all aspects of socio-economic and political life in the two countries.

In his remarks, UVFA President Oleksandr Vitaliyovich Shlapak reviewed the coordination outcomes between the association and the Vietnamese embassy in organising political and foreign affairs activities, as well as in people-to-people and cultural diplomacy in recent times.

He appreciated the embassy’s companionship in the UVFA’s operations, pledging to continue working with the embassy and Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach to organise pragmatic activities, thus contributing to bolstering the Ukraine-Vietnam comprehensive partnership and cooperation.

Oleksandr Vitaliyovich Shlapak recommended the ambassador, in coordination with Vietnamese competent agencies, consider awarding the Friendship Order to the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture on the occasion of its 90th founding anniversary in recognition of its contributions to Ukraine-Vietnam ties from 1960 up to now.

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of Vietnamese enterprises in Ukraine on the same day, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach congratulated the firms on their achievements in the host nation, hailing them as the “locomotive” in pushing the Vietnam-Ukraine relationship in economy and trade.

Suggesting the businesses study new ways to expand the economic and trade ties, the diplomat pledged the embassy’s continued assistance in tackling their obstacles during the development process.
