Meeting held to mark Vietnam - China diplomatic ties

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) held a ceremony on January 18 to mark the 71st anniversary of Vietnam – China diplomatic ties (January 18, 1950-2021).

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association's Ho Chi Minh City chapter Duong Quan Ha emphasised that Vietnam and China are two neighbouring countries with a long-term friendship.

On the basis of their comprehensive strategic partnership, leaders from the two nations have paid many visits and had many exchanges in order to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship, he added.

Ha also noted that the friendship and cooperation between the HUFO, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association with the Consulate General of China and Chinese business community in Ho Chi Minh City have developed in all fields.

For his part, Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Wu Jun affirmed that over the past 71 years, the relationship between China and Vietnam has become a model of relations amongst socialist countries, bringing practical benefits to people of both countries.

He also pledged to continue to cooperate with the HUFO inexternal relations activities, contributing to strengthening the comprehensive and strategic partnership towards a bright future for the two nations.
