Vietnam to provide Cambodia with 800 ventilators

Vietnam has decided to provide Cambodia with 800 ventilators, two million medical masks, 300,000 N95 masks and other medical equipment to serve its COVID-19 pandemic prevention.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long announced the information at an online meeting with Cambodian Minister of Health Mam Bunheng on April 22 in a bid to update information and share experiences in COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.

The Vietnamese Health Minister valued the efforts of Cambodia in implementing anti-COVID-19 measures, noting that Vietnam is ready to assist Cambodia in its pandemic prevention fight.

One of Vietnam's experiences in COVID-19 treatment is that all treatment facilities need to be connected to exchange, discuss and consult with each other on difficult cases, the minister said.

Long added that Cambodia's treatment facilities will be connected to Vietnam’s and Vietnamese doctors and experts will assist Cambodian doctors for the most effective treatment. Vietnam is also ready to send its experts and doctors to Cambodia to support the country ifs required.

Minister Long said that the Vietnamese Government has decided to provide Cambodia with 800 ventilators, two million medical masks, 300,000 N95 masks and other medical equipment amidst an urgent need for pandemic prevention equipment, one of the biggest supports from Vietnam to a country in its COVID-19 pandemic prevention.

Minister Long expressed his hope that the CambodianHealth Minister would continue to strengthen the anti-pandemic work, particularly in provinces featuring a shared border with Vietnam.

He thanked the Cambodian side for supporting Vietnamese citizens in Cambodia while hoping Cambodia would soon overcome the pandemic.
