Vietnam and Ukraine seek to promote bilateral cultural cooperation

Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach visited the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and held a meeting with its chairman, Cherniavskyi Kostiantyn, on September 17 to discuss the cultural cooperation activities between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach stressed that the embassy is willing to introduce the union to Vietnamese partners in order to promote bilateral cooperation in the arts.

He suggested the two sides co-host a contest about Vietnam to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Ukraine (January 23, 1992 - 2022).

Chairman Cherniavskyi Kostiantyn welcomed Ambassador Thach's initiative, affirming that the union will soon launch the composition. Entries will be selected by the embassy, the union, and the Ukrainian Cultural Fund for exhibition in cities of both countries.

He also expressed his wish to promote cooperation with the embassy and Vietnamese partners in the coming time.

Established in 1938, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine has 33 branches across Ukrainian localities and more than 4,000 members. The union has brought artists together and establish an artistic environment for them to promote creativity and improve their professionalism while protecting the interests of its members.
