Commenting on the Party chief’s article, Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama emphasised important milestones and stages of Vietnam’s development and success stories in all fields, especially economic development through over 35 years of Doi Moi (Renewal).

The Palestinian Ambassador also noted that admirable achievements over the past years have transformed Vietnam into a bright spot in the region as an eloquent proof of the right development path. With clear arguments and convincing results, the reason why Vietnam chose the path to socialism has been explained by the article and once again affirms that this is an inevitable choice.

The policies and measures of the Government of Vietnam on security, economy and social security have been well implemented. People have always been placed at the centre of all development goals and orientations. One of the concrete and vivid examples of this is the efforts in responding to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Vietnam has achieved encouraging results in supporting people to take care of their health, stabilise their lives, maintain economic momentum, and effectively mobilise social resources through a national vaccine fund. Development achievements are only truly meaningful when they bring legitimate and practical benefits to the people because in Vietnam, no one is left behind.

On the basis of taking the people as the root, considering the people’s power as the profound source of victory and development as mentioned in the article, Vietnam has implemented appropriate policies to develop the country. Socio-economic development is associated with building a solid defence and security foundation to protect the precious national independence. The gathering, leadership and strengthening of solidarity and unity of all classes of people is an important success of the CPV in the previous fight for the national independence and freedom, as well as in the current cause of consolidating and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for development and integration.

It must be affirmed that preserving independence and continuing to develop is not an easy task, especially in a volatile world with a series of traditional and non-traditional security threats. The successes of the past journey provide an important basis for countries around the world to pay attention to and develop relations with Vietnam. The stable political, security and social environment and open investment policies have created favourable conditions for large international corporations and companies to come and do business in Vietnam.

The comprehensive and proactive integration has left Vietnam’s imprint in the international arena, with positive contributions to the cause of peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world. Along with tireless efforts to integrate into the global cooperation trend, 2020 continued to mark a historic milestone in foreign affairs, especially multilateral diplomacy as Vietnam assumed the dual role of ASEAN Chair and non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. The sense of responsibility, bravery, and efforts to overcome unprecedented challenges have been rewarded with worthy results.

In addition, participating in the UN peacekeeping mission has also become one of the proud highlights of Vietnam. Vietnam's contributions to the world’s peacekeeping efforts, finding satisfactory and sustainable solutions to conflicts, putting the people at the centre, and applying humanistic policies aiming at supporting vulnerable people are considered an endless source of inspiration and encouragement for the Palestinian people and other peoples who are fighting for independence, freedom and basic human rights, because justice will always win.

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama underscored that those who love Vietnam, love peace, and appreciate the progressive and humanistic values of humanity always follow Vietnam’s development under the leadership of the CPV, wishing that Vietnam will go further in fostering the role of promoting friendly cooperation, and contributing to the building of a just and sustainable peace in the region and around the world.
