Speaking at an online conference held by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government leader attributed achievements Vietnam recorded in 2021 to contributions of the sector.

The sector has worked as an advisor of the Government and the PM in building and consolidating institutions, he said, highlighting its consultancy in organising the general elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 tenure.

The PM lauded progress in decentralisation, personnel management, administrative reforms and State management in emulation and reward, and religious affairs.

Pointing out limitations like sluggishness in institutional building and those regarding State management, PM Chinh said the sector should set out standards, criteria and procedures to fulfill its tasks, and maximise democracy and collective brainpower.

The immediate task for the sector is continuing to join the COVID-19 combat, socio-economic recovery and development, and social welfare, he said.

The sector and the Ministry of Home Affairs need to play a more active role in institutional building and consolidation to remove barriers to national development, focusing on State management institutions, the PM said.

PM Chinh mentioned other tasks like administrative reforms and Party building and rectification, saying he believed that the sector will make better performance of its political tasks this year.
