Thai PM sends sympathy over injured Vietnamese in Bangkok blast

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has cabled a message of sympathy to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung over the injuries obtained by a Vietnamese citizen in the recent bombing attack in central Bangkok on August 17.

Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramutvinai also extended his sympathy to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh over the incident.

In their messages, the Thai leaders strongly condemned the blast, noting that Thai officials are currently investigating the bombing.

They asked the Vietnamese leaders to convey their sympathies to the victim’s family on their behalf and affirmed that the Royal Thai Government would provide adequate aid for the victim.

The bombing, which took place at a popular tourist hub, close to upscale shopping malls, claimed the lives of at least 20 foreigners from China, the UK, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
