Entitled ‘Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa - Historical Evidence’, the exhibition introduces over 100 maps, documents, publications, and artefacts gathered from the resources of researchers and scholars in the country and from abroad.

The items on display were also previously exhibited in Ha Tinh province and Da Nang city, attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Minh Hong said the exhibition presents historical evidence affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.

The event offers an opportunity to raise awareness, solidarity and responsibility of Vietnamese people, especially the youth, to protect and affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty, he added.

The exhibition runs until September 5.

The same exhibition is also being held in Ha Tien town, in the southern province of Kien Giang.
