Speaking at the event, Australian Minister for Immigration and Border Protection Peter Dutton said that Vietnam is a typical story of success.

The 300,000 strong Vietnamese community in Australia has not only contributed significantly to developing bilateral ties with Vietnam, but also contributed to Australian multi-cultural society, he added.

Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi took the occasion to express his appreciation for the support of governments, peoples, and organisations all over the world for Vietnam’s past struggle for national liberation and in the country’s current national-building and development cause.

The diplomat expressed his belief that with the firm foundation and newly-signed agreement on enhancing comprehensive partnership, the Vietnam-Australia relations will be further enhanced.
