Delegates will also review the leadership of the 11th Party Central Committee; summarise the implementation of the Party statutes in the 11th tenure and recommend necessary supplements and revisions; and look back on the realisation of the Resolution on Party building issued at the fourth Plenum of the 11th Party Central Committee.

The Congress is being held with the themes of “Continuing the building of a pure and strong Party; putting into play the strengths of the entire nation and socialist democracy; accelerating reform in a comprehensive and synchronous manner; firmly safeguarding the Fatherland and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; and striving to grow Vietnam into a modern industrialised country”.

The 12th National Party Congress will elect the 12th Party Central Committee.

Preparations for the Congress have already been completed under the close direction of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Party Central Committee Secretariat.
