During the live-broadcast session, 47 NA deputies took the floor, expressing their opinions on ethnic affairs, regional economic linkage and mobilising resources for investment, especially investment in production.

The opinions also addressed policies on agriculture and production models for new-style rural areas.

Educational reform was another issue of interest, as was the building of new medical facilities to ease the overload at bid hospitals.

Many deputies voiced concerns about how to deal with climate change, with priority given to the current drought and saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta.

NA deputies also called for more drastic measures in fighting corruption and wastefulness, and in enhancing the capacity and responsibility of public workers.

Opinions on the land use plan focused on measures to improve the planning of land use, increase the efficiency of agricultural land and forest protection.

On the morning of April 2, the NA is scheduled to elect the new President and discuss in groups the dismissal of NA Vice Chairmen, a number of members of the NA Standing Committee, the Chair of the Ethnic Council, several chairmen of NA committees, and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office.

In the afternoon, the NA will conduct procedures to dismiss NA Vice Chairmen, a number of members of the NA Standing Committee, the Chair of the Ethnic Council, several chairmen of NA committees, and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office.
