Minister of Public Security visits Indonesia to boost co-operation

NDO/ VNA –Minister of Public Security Sen. Lieut. Gen. To Lam is paying a working visit to Indonesia from June 9 to 11 to discuss bilateral co-operation in relevant fields.

During a courtesy visit to Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla on June 10 as part of the trip, Minister To Lam asked the Vice President to create conditions for co-operation in security between Indonesian agencies and Vietnamese counterparts in the interests of the two countries’ people and for regional and global stability.

The minister affirmed Vietnam always treasures the friendship and collaboration with other regional countries and ASEAN member nations, including Indonesia.

He held that the partnerships between the two countries as well as between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Indonesian agencies have grown remarkably over the past time.

Lam told his host that during this trip, his ministry and Indonesian relevant agencies discussed issues of shared concern and consented to do their utmost to lift the bilateral ties to a new height, contributing to strengthening solidarity and unity in the ASEAN community.

For his part, Vice President Jusuf Kalla expressed his delight at developments of the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia in politics, the economy, trade, security and national defence, affirming that Lam’s visit would help deepen the bilateral strategic partnership.
