Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh receives Timor Leste Ambassador

Vietnam always works closely with Timor Leste to foster bilateral ties for the sake of peace, stability and prosperity in Southeast Asia, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh assured Timor Leste Ambassador to Vietnam Pascoela Barreto dos Santos during a reception in Hanoi on August 15.

Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh congratulated Timor Leste on successfully holding the presidential election in March 2017 and the parliamentary election for the 2017-2022 tenure in July 2017.

He thanked the Timor Leste government for creating favourable conditions for the State-run military telecom provider Viettel. He also thanked Vietnamese citizens living in the country over the past years.

The host asked the ambassador to actively liaison with the two countries’ agencies to make it easier for Vietnamese businesses to invest in oil, gas and agriculture in Timor Leste.

The Timor Leste ambassador expressed her delight at witnessing expansive, practical and effective bilateral ties in diverse areas, especially in telecommunications.

She pledged to do her best to further enhance relations between the two countries.
