The Government leader made the request while attending the opening ceremony of the new academic year 2017-2018 at the HCMA in Hanoi on September 5, during which he extended his kindest regards and best wishes to all teachers and students across the country as a whole, and the lecturers and learners at the HCMA in particular.

He emphasised that the Party, State and society always care for and consider education as the first priority in national policy and the factor that decides the success of the cause of national industrialisation, modernisation, reform, development and integration.

Hailing the significant role played by the HCMA, PM Phuc urged the academy to continue strengthening its position as a Senior Party School of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee.

He insisted that the HCMA’s curriculum must be closely aligned with the requirements of enhancing the leadership, direction and regulation skills, whilst embracing the contents of the Party’s fight against degradation and transformation as well as the Government’s determination in building a facilitative administration and combating corruption and wastefulness.

The academy’s training programme must also update the new issues posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution so that the learners, who are officials, will be able to follow this trend, the leader stated.

Speaking with the HCMA’s learners at the opening ceremony, PM Phuc asked them to be deeply aware of the glorious responsibility and the heavy tasks of a learner at the Party School, whilst constantly training their political will, cultivating revolutionary ideals, remaining steadfast with the goal of national independence and socialism, and absorbing the full modern knowledge needed for their working fields.

Earlier the same day, PM Phuc had a working session with key officials of the HCMA, during which he praised the academy’s significant contributions to advising on the building of the Party’s guidelines and policies and the State’s laws, as well as to supporting the system of Party and politics schools across the country.

The leader asked the HCMA’s directorate to further enhance the academy’s training and research quality, to modernise infrastructure, to strengthen the application of information technology in teaching and studying, and to develop strategic partnership with prestigious educational institutions in the world.
