Secretary Hai said that he was glad to see growing the relations between Vietnam and Ireland. More Irish companies have invested in Vietnam, while many Vietnamese students have studied in Ireland.

The official expressed his gratitude to the Irish government and people for their assistance to Vietnam over the years, especially in poverty reduction, education-training, rural development, energy, and electricity.

The Irish community in Vietnam has made many contributions to the host’s society, Hai said.

For his part, Bruton said that education plays an important role in the development of any country.

Like Vietnam, Ireland has sought to develop education in order to meet the requirements of the industrial sectors, especially amid the current rapid growth of information technology.

The minister said that he hopes the cooperation activities between Vietnam and Ireland would open up further opportunities not only in education but also in various fields for mutual benefits.
