NA Chairwoman Ngan made the remark at a joint press conference with visiting President of Morocco’s House of Representatives Habib El Malki in Hanoi on December 18 following their talks earlier on the same day.
She pledged that the NA of Vietnam will work hard to realise the agreement, while coordinating with the House of Representatives of Morocco to supervise and speed up the effective implementation of signed agreements between ministries and sectors of both countries.
Regarding measures to make bilateral parliamentary cooperation more practical and effective, Habib El Malki said that with the signing of the new deal, the first one signed between Vietnam and the parliament of an African country, the ties between the two parliaments and the two countries will enter a new period.
He noted that the Vietnamese top legislator repeatedly affirmed, during their talks that Morocco is a priority of Vietnam in Africa, asserting that the deal will contribute to reshuffle the partnership between the two countries in many fields, thus forging stronger ties.
Habib El Malki noted that Vietnam and Morocco share a long-standing friendship and similarities in culture and history, which is a firm foundation for the two sides to develop a partnership. This is also a good chance for the two countries to strengthen ties in economy and trade, he said.
Answering reporters’ question on the outcomes of their talks, NA leader Ngan said that the two sides reviewed bilateral political, economic and trade cooperation as well as collaboration between the two parliaments. They expressed hope to further bolster affiliation in all fields in the future, she stated.
The parliaments of Vietnam and Morocco will also continue with their political consultation mechanism, Ngan declared.
