While in Japan, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Xuan Thang, who is also in charge of the CPV Central Committee’s Theoretical Council and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics had a working session with the Chairman of the Presidium of the Communist Party of Japan (CPJ) Kazuo Shii.
Both host and guest informed each other on the situation of their respective parties and countries, and discussed regional and international issues of shared concern, as well as the strategies of their international relations in recent times.
They also discussed measures to enhance the cooperation between the CPV and the CPJ in the time ahead, focusing on theoretical issues.
Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Xuan Thang also met with Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga, Special Advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister Kentaro Sonoura, the Minister in charge of Administrative Reform Hiroshi Kajiyama and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Nakane.
They looked into measures to promote the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership, looking towards the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (1973-2018).
The Vietnamese Party official also had meetings with President of Japan’s Policy Research Institute Akihiko Tanaka, and the leaders of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), during which the two sides sought ways to intensify and improve the efficiency of their cooperation in human resources training and development, meeting Vietnam’s demands in the new period.
