NA Chair meets embassy staff and OV community in Netherlands

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan met with staff of Vietnamese embassy and representatives of the Overseas Vietnamese community in the Netherlands on March 26.

At the meeting, the top legislator applauded the efforts made by the embassy’s staff in fulfilling their assigned tasks, calling on them to promote solidarity and responsibility for the continued improvement of their work in the future.

Briefing the OVs on the country’s socio-economic achievements in 2017, she asserted that the Party and State always consider OVs as an inseparable part of the nation.

She expressed her delight that the OV community in the Netherlands, with around 20,000 people, has always shown their attachment to the motherland.

She hopes that the community will continue to uphold solidarity and mutual support for each other while turning their hearts to the homeland.

She called on Vietnamese parents in the Netherlands to encourage their children to learn the Vietnamese language so that descendants will remember their roots and have responsibilities in safeguarding and promoting Vietnamese cultural identities.
