National Press Awards on Party building launched

The Party Central Committee’s (PCC) Organisation Commission, Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, the Communist Review, the Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association held a press conference in Hanoi on March 29 to launch the third National Press Awards on Party building 2018.

The Bua Liem Vang (Golden Hammer & Sickle) Press Awards, aims to recognise outstanding works in disseminating information and promoting understanding of the Party’s policies and Party building, it is open to Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad.

Unlike the previous editions, this year’s contest will be open to entries which have won prizes at local press competitions. However, those participating in national, sectoral, and inter-sectoral contests are not eligible to enter.

Entries must be sent to the Party building magazine’s headquarters at 11B Cat Linh, Quoc Tu Giam ward, Dong Da district, in Hanoi, or email bualiemvang@xaydungdang.vn, no later than November 10.

According to Politburo member and head of the PCC's Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh, who is also the Chief Organiser of the awards, one special prize, five A prizes, ten B prizes, 15 C prizes, and 25 consolation prizes will be granted to entries across all forms of media, including newspapers, radio, TV, and multimedia.

In addition, the organising board will present 15 awards for organizations. Consolation prizes for Party building theory, senior citizens, young participants, and overseas Vietnamese will be added.

The awards ceremony will take place on February 3, 2019, to mark the 89th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Politburo member Pham Minh Chinh expressed his wish that the media will continue to support the Party in its quest to strengthen its foundation and improve transparency.
