Politburo member extends Easter greetings to Catholics in Hanoi

Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai, wished Catholic dignitaries and followers in Hanoi a merry Easter holiday when visiting Archbishop of the Hanoi Archdiocese Cardinal Pierre Nguyen Van Nhon on April 2.

She emphasised the close relationship between the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation and the Hanoi Archdiocese.

The Politburo member affirmed that the Hanoi Archdiocese, Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon himself, and Catholics in Hanoi have contributed greatly to the country’s socio-economic achievements.

She also acknowledged their contributions to charitable activities and encouraged local parishioners to continue to follow the Party’s policies and the State’s laws.

Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon expressed his thanks for the Party and State’s attention to and the Mass Mobilisation Commission’s acknowledgement of the contributions of the Hanoi archdiocese.

He said the archdiocese will accompany the nation and support the country’s progress in the spirit of sharing and looking towards the future.
