The event attracted the participation of the spouses of Ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, and female diplomats in Canberra, the capital city of Australia.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, the spouse of Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia and representative of the female diplomats in Canberra, said that this is the first time that the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia has organised this kind of event within the framework of the Association of Spouses of the Heads of Mission (ASHOM) in Canberra.

Thuy said that the event is one of the meaningful activities deployed by the ASHOM community to promote friendship and solidarity among the diplomatic missions in Canberra, while enhancing the mutual understanding among countries for a better world.

Ana Paula Mok, chairwoman of ASHOM in Canberra thanked the Vietnamese Embassy for organising the event, saying that it provided a good opportunity for all ASHOM members to get to know each other, as well as learning about the land and culture of other countries.

At the event, the guests were introduced to a bonsai performance by Vietnamese-Australian Pham Bao Khanh Linh which featured the landscapes and characteristics of Vietnam along with a showcase of Vietnamese cuisine.
