The event was hosted by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with Nhan Dan Newspaper, laying a forum for exchanges with exemplary models under the People's Police. The event was held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the "People's Police to Follow Uncle Ho's Teachings” movement and the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's Call for Patriotic Emulation.
Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, said that in past years, the movement of following the Six Teachings of Uncle Ho has been developed into a profound campaign by the police force. Police officers have active in all regions of the country to protect the security and happiness of local people, winning their trust.
According to Senior Lieutenant General Thanh, amid the complex developments in the region and around the world, the task of protecting social security requires that the People's Police force make greater efforts to accomplish the tasks assigned by the Party, State, and people.
He added that his ministry would continue to develop the movement so that it reaches new heights, together with promoting the study and adherence to President Ho Chi Minh's ideas, ethics and style in close integration with other emulation movements.
Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Thuan Huu, asserted that teachings by Uncle Ho to the People's Police sum up the social relationships that the revolutionary police must manage harmoniously, scientifically, and consciously. Good dealings with the people, the government and the enemy would ensure the successful completion of their duties, Huu said, adding that the police should innovate and improve their skills to adapt to the new situation.
At the event, delegates argued that the teachings of Uncle Ho on "the status of the revolutionary policemen” have become a valuable spiritual legacy, a guide for all activities, and a driving force for the People’s Police to overcome difficulties and challenges to fulfill their assigned tasks.

An exchange between exemplary members of the police force for radio audiences was also held the same day at Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV)’s headquarters, No. 58 Quan Su Street in Hanoi. It was broadcast live on the News and Current Affairs channel (VOV1), featuring the stories of policemen from across the nation of experiences during their duties to protect the peaceful life of the people.
