The Government leader made the remark during a reception for Vojtech Filip, Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic and President of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM), in Hanoi on June 5.
He highlighted the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, stating that Filip’s visit would contribute significantly to strengthening the traditional friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Expressing his delights at the active developments of Vietnam-Czech political relations over the past few years, PM Phuc recommended both sides further their efforts to boost and expand bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation.
Vietnam will always create favourable conditions for cooperation projects with the Czech Republic, he affirmed, calling on the Czech side to promote cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of aviation and automotive manufacturing.
The PM applauded the outcomes of the recent sixth meeting of the Vietnam-Czech Inter-governmental Committee for Economic Cooperation, stating that the Vietnamese Government will work closely with the Czech Government in implementing the cooperation deals reached at the session, thus contributing to facilitating bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields off Vietnam’s demand and the Czech Republic’s strength, such as energy, mining, infrastructure, environmental protection, and food safety and hygiene.

PM Phuc called for the Czech Republic’s support of Vietnam’s bid for a non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure, as well as the country’s comprehensive cooperative partnership with the European Union (EU), towards the prompt signing of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Vietnam is willing to support the Czech Republic’s efforts to enhance its ties with ASEAN and its member nations, the leader said, asking the Czech side to simplify the visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens to arrive in the country for the purpose of tourism and labour.
Speaking highly of the finely growing relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Parliament of the Czech Republic, PM Phuc favours the exchange of delegations between the two sides, aiming to share experience with regards to legislative and inspection activities.
For his part, Vojtech Filip called on Vietnam to promptly apply a more open visa policy towards Czech citizens, noting that the Czech side always creates favourable conditions in terms of visa procedures for Vietnamese people to travel for the studying, sight-seeing and labour purposes.
He suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in the areas of aviation technology and pilot training, and in the transfer of technology in operating light transport aircrafts.
The Czech side backs Vietnam’s candidacy for a nonpermanent membership of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure, the guest said, adding that the Czech parliament also supports and hopes for the prompt signing of the EVFTA.
He asked the Vietnamese Government to support the launching of a direct air route between the two countries, aiming to boost trade promotion, cooperation, and cultural exchange between the people and businesses of both sides.
