Vice President observes patriotic emulation movements in Hoa Binh

The People's Committee of Hoa Binh province held a ceremony on June 7 to mark the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation (1948-2018) in the presence of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

At the event, 131 outstanding individuals and collectives were honoured for their considerable contributions to patriotic emulation movements in the past year.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice President Thinh emphasised that President Ho's appeal for patriotic emulation is the motivation for the entire Party, people and the armed forces to overcome all challenges to build a more prosperous country.

She also praised Hoa Binh province for effectively implementing a number of patriotic emulation movements since the construction of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant began in 1979.

The Vice President suggested that the province promote the dissemination of information on the role-models of patriotic emulation movements to set examples for others to follow which will contribute to the province's social-economic development.

On the occasion, Deputy Secretary of Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang launched the patriotic emulation movement for the 2018-2020 period while outlining a number of measures to make the movement more practical and effective.
