Thai Nguyen prepares for large investment promotion conference

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held a working session with leaders of the northern province of Thai Nguyen to discuss the promotion of local international cooperation activities, especially the upcoming investment promotion conference in 2018.

Briefing the Deputy PM on the provincial socio-economic development, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Tran Quoc To, said that in 2017, Thai Nguyen achieved an economic growth rate of 12.7%; budget collection was estimated at VND12 trillion, exceeding 33.2% of the plan, and export value maintained its high growth rate.

Regarding the upcoming investment promotion conference in 2018, thanks to the active and practical support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, preparations for the conference were basically completed, To added.

Thai Nguyen proposed that the ministry support the introduction and connection with foreign diplomatic missions, international organisations, investors, business associations and potential foreign enterprises to help promote investment in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy PM and FM Pham Binh Minh urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant units to coordinate with Thai Nguyen's departments and agencies to deploy the preparations for the conference.

He also suggested that the province concretize the requirements, focusing on calling for investment in key areas, as well as the best commitments on preferential policies for investors.

On the same day, Deputy PM and FM Minh held a working session with the Thai Nguyen provincial Party Committee and authorities on the results of the mid-term implementation of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.
