On behalf of the municipal leaders, Liem highly appreciated the guests’ working trip to Vietnam, expressing his hopes that the visiting delegation would gain further useful insights into the Southeast Asian country and its localities, including HCM City.

The municipal official emphasised that the Vietnamese government and people always favour peace and are fully aware that it requires the joint efforts of the regional and the international community in order to ensure a stable, peaceful and favourable environment for the development of each nation.

Talking about HCM City’s socio-economic situation, Liem hailed the southern metropolis as an economic locomotive and an economic, financial, scientific and technological hub of Vietnam.

Annually, the city receives many foreign military ships on their friendly visits, which helps to further the understanding and interaction between local citizens and other countries, in addition to building and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment in the region.

For his part, Colonel Ton That Tuan spoke highly of HCM City’s vibrant development as well as its important position in Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

He voiced his belief that the foreign military attachés in Vietnam share a common desire to develop fine relations and cooperation between their respective nations and Vietnam.

The working visit is expected to help foreign military attachés to get a better insight into Vietnam and its people, so that they might provide constructive advice for the leaders of their countries in launching appropriate activities to boost their ties with Vietnam, Tuan said.
