Journalists congratulated on revolutionary press day

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, Tran Thanh Man, congratulated staff at Vietnam Television (VTV) and Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) on June 21, to mark Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Speaking at the meetings with journalists of the two media agencies, Man praised their significant achievements in disseminating the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, as well as expeditiously providing information on VFF activities related to gathering the great national unity bloc and the country’s major events. They have also helped to improve people’s spiritual life, he added.

At the same time, the VFF’s social monitoring and criticism programmes, as well as activities of the Party and State leaders during the Great National Unity Festivals, have always been appropriately reflected by the VTV and VOV, Man said.

On the same day, Man also visited the Department of Communications and Education under the VFF, Vietnam Fatherland Front Magazine and Nguoi Cong Giao (Vietnam Catholics) Newspaper.

Previously, VFF Vice President cum Secretary General, Hau A Lenh, visited and congratulated the Nong Thon Ngay Nay (Countryside Today) Newspaper, Vietnam Women’s Newspaper, and the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper.

On the occasion, authorities in the northern port city of Hai Phong hosted a meeting with spokespersons of press agencies with representative offices in Hai Phong and the local media.

Hai Phong Journalists’ Association also held a talk on the theme of journalism and awarded the medal “For the cause of the Vietnamese press” to 11 members.

A meeting was held in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province on June 21 to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and to award the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Press Award.

The Vietnam Journalists’ Association has sent thankful messages to relevant authorities, agencies, organisations and enterprises for their valued sentiments toward the national press on the occasion.
