Police Party Central Committee convenes meeting

The Standing Committee of the Police Party Central Committee (PPCC) held a regular meeting in Hanoi on June 26.

The session was attended by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the PPCC, Minister of the Public Security chaired the meeting.

The meeting evaluated the current situation and results of the work of ensuring national security and social order and safety in the first six months of 2018, and discussed the tasks for the remaining six months of the year.

Delegates also commented on the implementation of the Resolution 18-NQ/TW on reforming and reorganising the apparatus of the political system towards streamlined, effective and efficient operation; and Resolution 22 on renovating and streamlining the public security apparatus for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the PPCC lauded the police force for recording significant achievements recently, saying that their success in performing their tasks has made an important contribution to maintaining national security and creating positive changes in social order and safety, contributing to maintaining political stability, while creating a stable, secure, safe and healthy environment for socio-economic development and the country's expansion of external relations.

The force was also asked to focus on building up a strong People’s Police force to serve the nation’s socio-economic development, and to continue working closely with the military, ministries, other sectors and localities to fulfil the tasks of protecting the nation and maintaining social order and safety.
