At the meeting, Minister of Home Affairs, Le Vinh Tan, said the ministry had proposed that the Government instructs ministries, branches and localities to review, inspect and supervise at least 30% of all public affairs. The MHA not only inspects other agencies but also carries out this work at the Ministry’s office, he noted.

Regarding the reform of administrative procedures, Minister Tan proposed to cut at least 20% of procedures in 2018.

Minister and Chairman of the Government’s Office, Mai Tien Dung, conveyed the Prime Minister’s praise and appreciation to the MHA. As the standing body for administrative reform, the ministry has developed a decree regulating the functions and tasks of the ministries and advises on the drafting of the working regulations of the Government, as well as implementing many programmes, projects, and laws, he said.

The sector should also increase its inspections and set up a task force to regularly carry out inspections over personnel tasks to prevent shortcomings in personnel recruitment, appointment and management at sectors and localities.
