The delegation visited Dac Ro Ong, a poor commune in Tu Mo Rong district, where they attended a discussion on nutrition and breastfeeding hosted by the local healthcare with the participation of more than 30 families.

They also observed an information seminar on utilising locally grown products in nutritional cooking, and held an exchange with families with young children and medical workers at the Dac Ro Ong commune’s health station.

At a working session with leaders of Kon Tum province, NA Vice Chairwoman Phong praised the efforts made by the local authorities in child care and comprehensive child development, particularly in the universal pre-school education for five-year-old children and the health insurance cards for children under six years old.

She called on the provincial authorities to integrate their socio-economic development programs with childcare and education while better implementing UNICEF Vietnam's child care projects.

On the occasion, she presented 50 gifts to underprivileged families in Dac Ro Ong commune, and handed over two social houses to two poor ethnic households in the locality.
