Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh pays working visit to Tuyen Quang province

Deputy Prime Minister, Truong Hoa Binh, had a meeting with the leaders of Tuyen Quang province on August 4, during which he was briefed on the northern province’s socio-economic development in the first half of 2018.

According to Tuyen Quang Chairman, Pham Minh Huan, the local economy grew 6.2% in the first six months of the year, with the industrial value reaching VND6.9 trillion (US$296.7 million), up 11% from the previous year.

The province has also undertaken comprehensive administrative reform, with the time required to handle administrative procedures down by 30%.

At the meeting, the Tuyen Quang leader asked the central government to help the province to resolve a number of issues, including funding for the relocation of residents displaced by the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant and the early approval of the Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho Expressway.

Deputy PM Binh stated that he recognised the province’s efforts to reduce poverty and build new rural areas, while urging Tuyen Quang to continue focusing on infrastructure, human resources training and administrative reform as the key pillars to boost the province’s development.

As part of his visit, the Deputy PM handed VND200 million to the provincial fund for learning encouragement and worked with the Department of Justice and the Department of Taxation on administrative reform.

Earlier on August 3, he attended a ceremony to announce the decision to grant clemency to 69 inmates at a correctional facility in Son Duong district.
